New York City Child Fatality Review Advisory Team

In 2006, The NYSPCC’s Executive Director, Mary L. Pulido, Ph.D., was appointed by Mayor Bloomberg to serve on the New York City Child Fatality Review Advisory Team (CFRAT). The CFRAT was established to review all preventable deaths among New York City children ages one to 12 and to make recommendations for expanding the City’s child safety efforts.

Over the past seven years, the CFRAT has expanded its scope and conducted research and published reports on injury death among 13-17 year-olds, causes of death among infants under age one, motor vehicle and traffic accidents, residential fires, fatal unintentional injuries sustained in the home, and the socio-economic conditions, housing quality, and racial disparities in injury-related child deaths.
