Safety planning is crucial when working with survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV). It provides a structured, personalized approach to reducing risk and increasing a survivor's safety while navigating an abusive situation, preparing to leave, or after leaving. This 1-hr training provides an in-depth exploration into the critical role of safety planning in supporting survivors. Participants will learn effective strategies to help survivors navigate safety concerns before, during, and after leaving an abusive situation. The training covers personalized safety planning, considerations for marginalized populations, and best practices for professionals working with survivors. By the end of the session, attendees will be equipped with practical tools to provide informed, empathetic, and actionable support.
