One in 10 children will be sexually abused by their 18th birthday. Most often the abuse is done by someone the child knows and trusts. This workshop is geared towards parents, foster parents and other caregivers to learn about child sexual abuse myths, facts and statistics, including the concepts of grooming and power dynamics. The workshop will review signs and symptoms of child sexual abuse, how and when to talk to children about sexual abuse and what to do if a child discloses abuse.
Parents, foster parents and other caregivers are invited to attend FREE workshops on supporting the children in their lives. Two workshops, one in English and one in Spanish, will be held at the same date and time for one hour every other month in 2024. Workshops will be held virtually via Zoom and there will be a raffle at the end of the workshop.
