Trauma Responsive Care and Healing Centered Engagement: Strategies to Promote Healing and Resilience in Organizations Serving Children and Families

Organizations that serve children and families who have experienced trauma and adversity must go beyond the awareness of trauma to change services, policies, and practices. Healing must be viewed as a collective process and trauma-informed principles must be integrated into all interactions. This workshop will define trauma-responsive care and healing centered engagement. It will provide key strategies for individuals and organizations to incorporate the principles of safety, trust and transparency, and restoring power, voice and choice into their work with children, families and staff, and across systems of care.
