Summary

Organizations that serve children and families who have experienced trauma and adversity must go beyond the awareness of trauma to change services, policies, and practices. Healing must be viewed as a collective process and trauma-informed principles must be integrated into all interactions. This workshop will define trauma-responsive care and healing centered engagement. It will provide key strategies for individuals and organizations to incorporate the principles of collaboration and mutuality, peer support, and cultural, historical and gender issues into their work with children, families and staff, and across systems of care.
