Youth Workshops and Resources
Our sexual abuse prevention workshops are designed to provide children and young people with developmentally appropriate strategies to help keep them safe. These workshops, available to schools and youth-serving organizations in New York City, ensure that all children are fully equipped with information and tools they can use to protect themselves and know what to do if they, or someone they know, is being sexually abused or exploited.
E-mail the Training Institute to learn more or request a workshop.
Safe Touches© (K-3rd Grade)
-
Safe Touches is an evidence-based, interactive, age-appropriate child sexual abuse prevention program designed to educate and empower children in kindergarten through third grade. The classroom-based workshop is 45-minutes long, highly interactive and fun. Specially trained facilitators use puppets to teach children important body safety concepts that can help keep them safe from child sexual abuse. Children learn the difference between safe and not safe touches, the private parts of the body, and safety tools they can use if they ever receive a not safe touch or feel unsafe.
Safe Touches is available in New York City to be delivered in-person or virtually, in English or in Spanish. An adapted curriculum for children with autism and similar disabilities is also available for K-5th District 75 and self-contained classrooms. This curriculum meets the annual requirement for New York State’s Erin’s Law.

Sexual Abuse and Online Sexual Exploitation Prevention (6th-8th grade)
-
The NYSPCC offers interactive 45-minute workshops for middle school students focused on preventing both in-person sexual abuse and online sexual exploitation. These sessions provide age-appropriate education on body safety, recognizing grooming behaviors, and strategies to stay safe from abuse. Youth also learn how to protect themselves online, including identifying catfishing or online grooming, and how to safely report inappropriate behavior. Each workshop empowers youth with practical tools, up-to-date information, and guidance on seeking help from trusted adults. This curriculum meets the annual requirement for New York State’s Erin’s Law.

My Body Belongs to Me© is a fun and engaging children’s activity booklet designed to help parents and caregivers talk to their children about sexual abuse and body safety.
