About Our Intern Program
The NYSPCC collaborates with accredited master’s-level Social Work and Mental Health Counseling Programs to arrange internships and ensure student educational goals and agency service goals are met. Interns provide services to low-income families who have been impacted by trauma in our Therapeutic Supervised Visitation Program and our Trauma Recovery Program. Students also help co-facilitate sexual abuse prevention workshops in our Safe Touches Program. Interns are provided with a comprehensive orientation to the agency and the clinical programs. Once the orientation period is complete, interns take on a caseload and become members of our dynamic and supportive clinical team. Throughout the internship, interns receive clinical support through group supervision, individual supervision, and team meetings. All supervisors are SIFI-certified, licensed mental health professionals.
